Email From Brad Daw - Our Voices Matter

It is nice to know that our state officials actually care what we think!  Utah is a great place to live!  If you do not know who your Utah State leg is send me your zip code and I will look it up for you.
Dear Neighbor:

July has been a quite month on the state government front. I was tempted to send you my vacation travelogue along with several dozen pictures, but thought better of it. I have just two items this month.

First, Orem has a new prescription disposal drop box located in the Public Safety Building located at:

95 E Center St
Orem, UT 84057-4600
(801) 229-7300

Lobby is open Mon - Fri 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sat 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

To see all drop box locations in Utah County see: http://www.utahcountyonline.org/Dept2/Health/Substance%20Abuse/Cabinet/disposal_in.html

This is by far the best way to dispose of unused medications. Far too often the first illicit use of drugs is right from the medicine cabinet. This is also the best method environmentally. After you deposit your pills they are disposed of in a manner so as not to contaminate our water or landfills.

Second, We have been asked by the Speaker of the House, David Clark, to fill  up our own personal copies of a book called Vox Populi or Voice of the People with ideas about how to improve our state government. As the book implies we've been asked to poll our constituents and get their ideas. I think this is a great idea and now I'm asking you to send in your ideas. What can we do to improve the governance of the state? What would you like to see on the agenda when the legislature convenes next?

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I will be taking your responses and putting them in my book for presentation to the Speaker of the House.

Brad Daw
